The Kilbarchan Singers
The Joy of Song!
The Kilbarchan Singers are an enthusiastic group of around 30 singers based in Renfrewshire, Scotland. Formed in 1982 as a madrigal group, the group has grown in size and repertoire. The Singers rehearse and perform regularly both locally and further afield, mainly singing a cappella music of composers spanning six centuries.
Repertoire
From madrigals to large-scale romantic works, from modern British to Christmas Carols, from Sacred to Secular, the Kilbarchan Singers cover a wide repertoire.
Concerts
The choir performs at least 3 main concerts per year, one in May/June in Paisley, and Christmas concerts in Kilbarchan (Renfrewshire) and Glasgow. Other concerts and tours can occur throughout the year.
Recent tours have included singing in Freiburg (Germany), Notre Dame Cathedral (Paris), and Brussels Cathedral.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals take place at 7:30pm on Monday evenings in the Kilbarchan East Church of Scotland (map here).
Join Us!
The Kilbarchan Singers welcome new members! We are currently looking for more male voices—tenors, baritones and basses—to supplement our choir. Ability to read music and some previous choral experience are recommended. Please contact us if you are interested.
